I absolutely agree and was about to post the exact same thing! At least in regards to the SF Bay Area. I tried using it for NYC and it wasn't so great. Yelp was better over there. But Chowhound is the best I have come across for suggestions here.

We all have our ideas on what is and isn't worth it, but there is no meal worth $500.00 for two. At least in my book there isn't and I do love good food and wine.
Like most things, I guess food and pricing is very subjective.
