OK... I've been away for 3 years, but prior to that I've never heard anyone refer to those areas as Uptown or Ivy Hill. Interesting

What are some of the Korean spots? I've only had Hanh's Hibachi at JLS. What are some really good ones? I love Korean food!

They're more real estate terms.. I doubt many residents of Peralta/Hacienda or Havenscourt call them by the "official" name. At any rate, if I had an opportunity to own a house on Ivy Hill I would, no question.. considered a condo but it was very poor construction quality and ground floor, I would have hated it..

Speaking of Ivy Hill, Im currently looking for a house in Cleveland Heights which is on the other side of Park Blvd from Ivy Hill.

Cleveland Heights??

yep... definitely real estate or new to the area terms. ;-)

I grew up in what can called King Estates. Only no one that lived there called it King Estates, until real estate went crazy.

I've forgoten what they were calling the area by the zoo and Golf Links. New neighbors would use the name and get the blank stare. Or be reminded that it's still East Oakland no matter what the realtor said.
