Just to be safe, I think one should at a minimum view the Damon/Affleck movie "Dogma" before deciding to go, just to know what your getting into.

yes it's fictional, but it pretty well lays out the rules you'll be living under in that sect

This person is a troll (lulu), do what you wish but I've chosen to cease engaging in conversations with this individual. S/he doesn't know what the heck s/he's talking about and has no experience living in the Bay Area. (and i'm being nice here). It will become more obvious the more posts you see. It's pretty consistent.

USF is a great school. I think it depends on what you're seeking, what you'd like to study and where you want to take it.

UC Berkeley has come down a few notches.

I went to UCD.

Anyway, I think it's irrelevant which school you go to, just get your education and make sure you like the campus, values. It could be a small college in a small university town. Most important thing is that you like it and can get something out of it. 4 year degrees can be overrated as well. I've known a few idiots with Ivy League credentials and I've met visionary geniuses with GED's. It's just a piece of paper. The real innovative go getters never stop learning and continue to challenge themselves even after they graduate.

So my point? If USF makes you happy, the curriculum is a good match towards you being successful in your chosen profession and it fits into your budget....go for it.

Just my opinion.

I'm not saying that no one should go there, but it takes a certain kind of person (willingness to attend Mass at least once a week). A lot of people would be happier at Davis, or at a JC.

That's right--it seems like AL8725 got the schools mixed up.

U of Chicago is a private school is it not?

Berkeley and U of I are both public, state schools that offer the highest quality (both are the best public universities in their state) of instruction while being a lot less costly than that of a private school, tuition etc.

I was strictly speaking of reputation.

You're right though concerning the distinctions between public and private.
