In my honest opinion there isn't a bad school in town. API scores more often reflect the families commitment to education than anything going on in a particular school. It's no coincidence that the elementary school with the highest API also has the largest population of kids from cultures that value education. The schools are fairly even in what they have to offer and ultimately it will be up to you and your kids to either take advantage or not. The biggest mistake you can make is thinking a school with a high API will somehow make your own child better...it won't.
