No, it is not an informative post. Don't be fooled by HSW, he's a troll of the highest degree, who constantly says almost the exact same nonsense over and over. He's always called out on it, and he never responds. 90% of what he says is very subjective and only holds true for very wealthy, sheltered people (if even that), and has no base in reality for the rest of the population.

About the only advice i'd take from him is on where to eat. I guess taste buds are one thing that are usually pretty accurate, regardless of who they belong to.

Most capitalists live in City's PacHts area and drive selves to offices in Financial Dt or Silicon Valley...and tend to avoid rest of City which is annoyingly communist (and often has nasty hygiene issues...LOL)
You mean the greed is good capitalists that brought down the economy? Those capitalists? No doubt they're holed up in their Snob Hill enclaves laughing their collectives asses off. The only thing free is the bailouts they got. And I can't imagine a worse stench than the Madoff capitalists.

Well, not to get into politics, but it was government intervention that caused the financial crisis. Fannie Mae encouraging bad loans to unqualified people is the whole basis for the problem.

It feels very comfortable. Although I am a proud supporter, I do not wear this outfit to taunt anyone. I fancy myself as a cowboy of sorts, and I feel comfortable in the boots.

Everybody is telling me San Franciscans will be in my face if I walk down the street wearing that kind of apparel. I say I won't.

Who is right?
I don't mean to alarm you...but the attire is not the norm for San Franciscans...if I were to see it there, it would probably be the CASTRO district...which is a very famous gay district.

Just curious if you have a big thick mustache...because that would be SO Castro, it would be almost funny.

Regarding San Francisco...it IS liberal! But people are so open-minded that literally anything goes. I think people will just find your existance odd more than anything. Mainly because 'liberals' are just generally educated people who read a lot and have a strong awareness of the world and everything about it. Your general American populace isn't, but few go to SF ever, so the idea that people like you exist and are walking around would probably be a fascination to them. If you just quote Fox News stuff, they will probably counter all of your arguments very quickly, but if you read books or anything to back your facts, you might find some good discussion there.

Generally speaking though, the cowboy gear is mostly associated with being gay...and some people within the gay community actually can be VERY conservative politically as well...wide spectrum there...again, everything and anything goes in SF, but by and large, 'liberal' means tolerant whereas 'conservative' doesn't. But fiscal conservatives and/or libertarians can be easily be found in SF.

Do you think they will care? Tourist=$$, unless you are living there long term. Enjoy your trip.

According to whom, the F#X robber baron propaganda ministers? In fact it was the free-for-all deregulation orgies set in motion by Reagan and perfected by Wendy and Phil (the recession is all in your head) Gramm with unregulated derivatives fraud and thoroughly documented in the book, Fiasco: The Inside Story of a Wall Street Trader by Frank Partnoy. The subprime crisis could have been contained except for the multi-trillion dollar derivatives Ponzi schemes the rich elite robber barons concocted that have effectively bankrupted the US (but not the elite crooks that came up with these schemes).

You know the more I think about it, the more it becomes clear that someone walking about in a cowboy outfit will be assumed gay no matter what part of San Francisco. People will just assume the guy is gay & in San Francisco that is total acceptance. So the Texas guy will likely be treated quite well though may get "hit on" by some men.

I wouldn't even give him that much. PacHts is not particularly known for having great restaurants; in fact, of the famous neighborhoods in SF I'd honestly put Pacific Heights last in terms of its restaurant "scene."
