Default State of affairs in San Anselmo & Marin

Does anyone out there have kids in public schools in San Anselmo? We have a 7th grader and a 3rd grader and we might be relocating from NY. Used to live in SF. Son born in SF. Interested in San Anselmo as our new town. But been seven years and really looking for insight into state of affairs. We're aware of the pros... what are the cons beside high cost of living, flooding, traffic on Sir Francis Drake? Public schools still strong? Still great place for families? Safe? Gangs? Homeless problem? Appreciate insider feedback. Thx

The state of affairs is becoming quite drastic. Preliminary studies show that up to 63% of married couples have at least one party involved in some type of affair. When asked to define what constitutes affair, the analysts described the following: kissing (tongue, no tongue), hand holding (except during street crossing), VAO penetration (vaginal, anal, oral) and any significant amount of emotional attachment to another party. As you can see, the state of affairs is a serious issue and is leading us further into the degeneration of positive family values.

I have a friend who lives in San Anselmo and a couple of friends (with kids & families) in Fairfax. They both love it. I don't know that much about the school systems, but their kids are smart and seem to be flourishing in the school systems. One is going to Tam High next year which is in Mill Valley. Both cities are gorgeous in terms of landscape. San Anselmo seems to have a lot of community involvement. I think a lot of influential people live in the area (celebs & non celebs) ~ not that I care about this, but sharing what I know. Money & influence make it happen and keeps the streets safe as you know; just keeping it real.

When I've driven over there to visit the traffic on Sir Francis Drake didn't seem to be that congested during the weekend. I would imagine commute times factor in wherever you live ~ to me this is just a given. I would check it out further if I were you. If you're from SF, you know full well there is not a huge gang or homeless problem in parts of Marin County* relative to other Bay Area counties. haha. You gave me a little laugh there.

Best wishes with your move!

*San Rafael, Novato might be the exception

San Anselmo & Marin are really nice areas and is very good for families. They are very affluent areas in the bay.

Default Gracias

Thanks. Not sure if this got posted, as I'm new to this:

I guess we're just wondering how and if the CA budget woes (yes its happening in our state of NY too, and teachers are being laid off etc. but the affluent suburbs like the one we live in are holding their own) are impacting a town and school system like San Anselmo's, or because of the affluence does SA maintain calmer seas and sail through it?

Also, what are reputations and differences of highs schools: Drake vs. Redwood vs. Tam?

Thanks again for the help.

ps - I'd love to be put in e-mail touch with a resident of SA with kids in public school

Did anyone ever get back to you about these questions? I have many of the same.
