McCain is a politician. Conservative and libertarian politicians can't say what they really think on such issues because they will automatically be labeled racist.....so they go with the pc program. MLK was not the angel the liberal press made him out to be. Yes, I will defend the right of states to do as they see fit. And I will not allow others to shout down or label as 'racist' anyone who will not make a demi-god of MLK.

Quite honestly, I really wonder if the Founding Fathers really wanted the government involved in mandating holidays of any kind.

Correct spelling is Mormons (no "a" in that word).

By the way, the hyperbole about Mormons thinking blacks are demons is complete BS. And you call other people out for being intolerant. Sheesh.

Guess you're never heard of the Anti-Black doctrine. Go look it up before you make yourself look like anymore a fool.

I love the weather here and the laid back lifestyle.

Will the liberal state and local governments raise taxes another one or two percent which suddenly causes a mass exodus of the wealthy to no income tax states like Nevada?

What seems to keep the place going is illegal immigrants who are coming from a much worse place than here and legal immigrants coming from poorer countries who accept the high costs. Those two trends will not change so maybe California will continue going like it has for quite awhile.
California is fine, by itself it would still be one of the G-7. If it could print it's own money there would be no problem. It is the rest of the country that is dragging California down

So asians aren't making more money they are sticking together and sharing the money that's why they can easily have a Mercedez S class because they share that with relatives. So there not richer than anybody else PER CAPITAL WISE (individual). That's how they took over Alhambra, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Rosemead, Arcadia, Temple City, and soon EL Monte, then West Covina, then Chino Hills. THey build big mansions over what use to be a small single family home so they can fit their extended relatives and live like china all crowded.
Yes there are Asians that live in a crowded household but there are also plenty that live individually similar to American families. You think they are able to take over SGV because of this? Look at the economy in SGV. Their economy is not affected by the recent depression. They save money and if they spend they spend within their own communities. They are not only replacing Caucasians in the area but they are surpassing them. They are the most educated group, commit the least crime, and probably the only group that is assimilating well into the American culture. Look up North and it tells you everything. They have chain stores like 99 Ranch and Ramen Ajisen that expanded all the way to the Bay Area. Then you have the Bay Area which has politicans that are Asians. Go to any California universities and nearly half of the students are Asians.

By the way, it is per capita.

Exactly! This is well known so make California out to look like the bad place and people start to believe it if you say it often enough and loud enough.

Which is why the focus should be on Washington DC since immigration(legal or otherwise) is a federal issue.

They keep dragging their feet and leave states holding the bag, and then when states try to legislate the issue, the fed gets all up in arms.

Its total hypocrisy on the part of the Federal Government---which is their perogative, but their hypocrisy on illegal immigration costs California billions annually.
