OK. I guess I'll stay on the Sausalito side of the 101 on my lunch hour!

and unfairly castigated by many
If it walks like a duck and quacks likes a duck, than it is a duck. There is nothing unfair about how Marin City is portrayed by the masses. After all what exactly are the pros of living in Marin City ?

I find it funny that people think Marin City isn't bad, maybe it is not quite as bad as other more populous ghettos, but Marin City is still a ghetto. And if you really believe it isn't bad than tell that to the 30 something people that have been robbed at gun point in the last year.

I am white and lived in Marin City in 1966 in what were then new apartments on stilts. I was often stopped by police on my way home at night, questioning why I was going there and assuming it was to buy drugs. I moved there at the invitation of folks who were trying to develop the new housing as a model integration project. I would be very interested in learning more about this project and what the results of it might have been. I would also be very interested in communicating with anyone else ho lived there at the time.

I love how that Best Buy mall has prison towers built into the architecture theme. Subtle.

This is something I would propose for Marin City: I would propose building a grocery store, building new homes, and to do this in a "green" way. The green industry could work here. More jobs for the people of this community, more shopping options, more homes(better homes too). You can't outsource the green jobs because you have to build it in that spot. It has to start somewhere. Now is the time to start thinking big, and for the future. There is much to be done in Marin City.
