I didn't know this part was called 'Uptown' but a friend of mine lives just around the corner on W. Grand and Northgate. I enjoy walking around that area just to check out the new digs. I guess those colorful condos on Telegraph have dropped quite a bit in price. I don't know how much they originally wanted for them, but a 1 bed/1 bath was on trulia for 99k.

Went to that little shindig last night, primarily to do the tour of the refurbed Fox Theater. Very very nice job they have done in there. A bit smaller than the Paramount and with a Moorish theme instead of straight Art Deco. Also spent some time watching a Miles Davis Birth of the Cool tribute in a new plaza that is part of a three-four block section of new condos. Very nice.

Area is defiantly being gentrified and gets pretty crowded on weekend evenings. Pican gets really packed and is constantly full no matter what day of the week.

My guess is that a lot of the nice new housing is empty because of the timing of when it hit the market. Over time things will fill out - it is pretty nice.

Everything new is still over Priced. The Ellington at 2nd and Broadway is 500 K for a two bed room condo with HOA fee's in the 600-700's per month. Who can afford this? Not me and I make pretty good money.

Unlike fine meals, I agree that these are overpriced!
