What I am saying is, in other cultures that are more typical of English colonies with slavery in their past, the "acting too white" thing does not seem as prominent as it is here. Not a value judgment, an observation.
Caribbean Blacks have a different history than Black Americans, then again the majority know the struggle of Black Americans and respect it. Go read about Marcus Garvey or Frantz Fanon. Frantz Fanon will help you understand the colonialized mentality of many in the Caribbean and acting "white" from a Caribbean black experience.

The fact is, Oakland does not support the A's even when they are doing well and make the playoffs. What other teams can't sell out a playoff game? I would like them to move to Sacramento but the San Jose area would be the best market for the owners.

I'm no black scholar but I've taken a good amount of anthropology courses at SFSU so I wouldn't consider myself completely ignorant to various social/racial issues. Being in a "lower class" is not something worthy of outside criticism on its own. Not everyone who is poor or placed in a "lower class" for whatever reason takes on and displays the characteristics that society understands as being ghetto trash or a crack head. Not everyone can help what financial/social conditions they are placed in but there are definitely things that can be done to either elevate oneself to a better condition or at least make the most of what you are given without degenerating to what many would call ghetto trash. I'm sure you'll return with something along of the lines of "they can't escape these "ghetto" attributes because of restrictions society has placed on them" or "who are you to assume that just because a few guys are playing dice on the street outside their house at 3pm on a Monday while scratching themselves uncontrollably that they are thugs or crack heads?". There are various ways a person can act and these actions project an image that people see and judge. It may not always be fair but that’s how society works.

No you've got it all wrong, I could'nt care less what whites think of me. I don't whine and complain every time a white does or says something racist. Thats just life. Deal with it and grow a thick skin. It makes you stronger as a person and builds confidence.

And no I won't "tap dance" for racial harmony, though racial harmony is a good goal to work towards. Nobody likes being around bitter and mad people all the time. Try it sometime.

When white people look down on trailer trash living in trailer parks is that "self hate"? There is the equivalent with blacks but when people call them out its "racist" or "self-hate". No they're calling them out because they're dysfunctional.

So don't be silly. It has nothing to do with self hate or race hate.

LOL...so hows the weather in the OC today?

Anyway,
Its just that you don't write things that sound like something a black person from Oakland would say-obviously I don't know you and you very well could be black and you very well could be living in Oakland.

People don't believe I'm polynesian sometimes(because Im not 7 ft tall, 400 lbs and I dont wear a lava-lava and I speak proper English) so I can relate in that sense-but I don't put my people down like you do all the time.

That was actually a well thought out post. I agree with many of your points.

You're white. It's very easy to tell. Accept it and be proud, it's ok..
