Hi,

We're thinking about relocating to the Bay Area (I'm American, my husband French), but we need to consider a lot. The company is in Cupertino, but I have a feeling it's rather expensive to live there. My daughters will be 5 and 3 by the time we move and I will have a newborn. I think that we will try to rent for a year before attempting to buy a house, so I'd like to keep the rent down. We've been hearing that we should count between 2500-3000 for rent. I already know that the space will not be a shock - we live in a <900 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms (and that's considered pretty spacious here).

So the advice I'm looking for:
Should I accept the offer and just look for childcare, in which case together my husband and I could make around $180K-$200K a year, or decline my offer and try to live off of one salary (hopefully >$100K). I work in software, so I'm hoping that I won't have a hard time finding a job when the time comes.

Also, are there any public primary schools with a sort of international population? My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the States, but in France she has already skipped a grade and would normally be going into first grade.

I would love to be a SAHM, but I just don't if we could afford it. Any advice would be welcomed!
