Hello,

I am interested if there is in SF area some kind of European community or European style of neighborhood - central Europe exactly - Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Czech republic, etc.

Thank you very much.
J.

No not really. North Beach has quite a few old Italians living there but otherwise the "ethnic" neighborhoods in SF are either Asian or Central American (Mexican, etc). There are immigrants from all around the world in SF but most of them don't come in large enough numbers that they form their own neighborhood around one ethnic group.

some areas seem to have more eastern european & Russians but they are spread out, the public library in the Richmond district on 9th street even has Russian language on the shelves and I see lots of Russians go there and several Eastern euro stores around the area

there are eastern europeans here, czechs, hungarians, russians, polish but they are spread out, they do not live in one enclave in any one city. But you can network with them online, there are a few european stores that cater to that community

You may want to look for some European social organizations or clubs if you're looking for camaraderie with people from that area. My relatives from Germany LOVE downtown Mill Valley, which they said felt the most European to them in architecture and style, like a small European village. But it is not an area in which many Europeans live, it just looks like like Europe!

Thank you very much everybody! You were very helpful. I would love to live in part of city which reminds me of Europe just a little. It's easier for a fresh newcomer to start there
