I am moving my family from SF to Georgia next month and want to find someone that wants to go there for vacation, holidays, moving, whatever, and could tow our boat along with them, even if they don't have a truck (we would prefer they are already driving a pickup out there but it not, we would use ours). I have no idea where to look for someone going to Georgia lookin to haul, or where or how to post an ad that would find this person. I know people do this - cut the cost of the trip by hauling something along with them. I don't want to use a professional mover because they want more than the cost of the boat to do it. Any suggestions?

Craigslist or take out an ad in the paper (both risky imo).

Why not have your household stuff moved via ABF or a moving company and tow the boat yourself?

Hard to find a freebie helper.... 3 thousand miles! Post your offer at the campus bulletin board... in the student union at Stanford.

Sell the boat and buy another one if the value of your boat is that low. I'm sure they are cheaper in GA anyways. I'd be too scared the person towing your boat would just keep it...
