Default red light camera flashing

I was driving my car home after picking up my pizza from papajohn, I stopped behind a few cars on an intersection red light. When the light turned to green, the first few of them were moving but the two cars ahead of me weren't. I changed line when the light turned to yellow and passed them. But when my car was passing the intersection, the light just turned red. Then the camera in front of me and the other camera on the left were flashing. Probably I am going to get a ticket because of this one month after, what to do in the case? I am in Union City

Pay the fine, do traffic school if eligible.

Your first offense was your choice of eating establishment.
Only pay the ticket if it comes from your local police or court.

Hey nn2000, sorry to hear about your situation. I am not sure if you'll be receiving a ticket or not, but I can help clarify the situation as best as I can. Just note that I am not a lawyer, and what I say below should not be taken as legal advice.

You said: "when my car was passing the intersection, the light just turned red." From this, I cannot tell whether or not your car had passed the limit line of the intersection before or after the light had turned red. But, you know if you did or not, so it basically boils down to this: If you had crossed the limit line before the light had turned red, no ticket should be issued. However, if you crossed the limit line after the had turned red, you violated California Vehicle Code Section 21453 and will be cited.

Nonetheless, be aware that it is still up to the discretion of the Police Officer responsible for red light cameras to give you a ticket or not. If you are going to get a ticket, the issuing police department has "within 15 days of the alleged violation" to mail it to you - California Vehicle Code Section 40518. If you receive no ticket within those 15 days, then you should be in the clear.

Best of luck to you. Happy Holidays!
