I've been looking for a place that serves fresh brewed sweet tea with no luck. I'm not talking lemon iced tea, Brisk tea, or that crappy Arizona "Southern Style" Sweet Tea - I'm talking about the real deal. I'm desperate. Any tips?

My girl had the same exact issue when she first moved out here from VA Beach lol. I'm sure there are better options around somewhere here (at least I hope there are ), but if you're really desperate you can go to Chick Fil-A at Solano Mall in Fairfield. That is assuming you have a car and are willing to drive about 40 minutes to get it.

Its not quite as good as Chick Fil-A in VA, but its pretty close. That's the best I know of out here. If I find a legit soul food spot or something that does it right I'll definitely let you know tho! Hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

I grew up in central Florida and am a sweet tea fanatic. I've lived out here for many years and have given up on finding any. BUT, it's been a good thing as I have switched to the fake, calorie free stuff. If you can handle fresh-brewed iced tea with just having to put your own sugar in it, I can suggest a lot of places. But, if you want it with sugar already in it, I can't help you.

I lived in Florida for many years and never got all the fuss about Sweet Tea, but I am not a Southerner.

What about just making it?

Other than making it yourself or moving out of SF I don't think there are any solutions. Tea that comes from a factory is always crap. Chik Fil-A is better than most other fast food places but that isn't saying much.

I'm guessing you are originally from the South?

Have you tried soul food or southern style restaurants? Those are the only places that I typically find Sweet Tea other than Chick-Fil-A.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and tips. I'm originally from Virginia Beach, and you could go anywhere and get sweet tea. It didn't matter what type of restaurant. I used to get sweet tea at a Chinese take-out place near my house, haha. Anyway, I'll have to try Farmer Brown, especially since it's within walking distance from my place. Hopefully I won't have to hitch-hike to the nearest Chick-Fil-A.

Farmer Brown was amazing. Thanks so much Curmudgeon. 10,000 rep points to you if I could. The sweet tea was perfect, and they even give you free corn bread. And I got collards with my meal. They were a little more onion-y than I'm used to, but still quite d-lish. Thanks again everyone! Farmer Brown was a hit!

I want to eat the fried chicken off their website it looks so good. Next time I am in the city I am going to grub down on some of that.
