Well TL and Mission are equally bad! The TL crazies seem to keep to themselves but people in Mission seriously hate each other.

There's nothing wrong with the neighborhood ends with Heights. The OP seems to be young and like funky and trendy neighborhoods, and I don't think the Heights' community would fit her/him.

Ah, I thought that you were referring to them being scary neighborhoods

I have only been here for 3 weeks now, and what I know so far is to avoid any neighborhood that has the word 'height' in it (e.g. diamond heights).
HUH?!?!?

Bernal Heights, Ashbury Heights, and Diamond Heights are all nice.

Wow. Even that statement is totally wrong. Do you ever leave your the inner Sunset?

Besides, they don't hate each other. Just you.

Bernal Heights is decent, but certainly isn't the safest of neighborhoods. It has its fair share of crime and also is home to a pretty rough housing project. As for the OP I agree with some other posters that the Mission sounds best suited for you.

Mission is over-run with semi-literate, drug-addicted, unemployed hipsters whose obnoxious lifestyle is sponsored by their rich parents. Your IQ and productivity will go down significantly if you chose to be surrounded by them. This area is a dumping ground for societal trash that is generated from too much affluence and too little intelligence!

Is it the "safest" neighborhood? No.

Is it nice? Yes.

Certain pockets are sketchy, but as a whole the neighborhood is nice and has changed substantially. Bernal does border some rougher neighborhoods, I'll give you that.

Wow. Somebody sounds extra jealous and cranky today.
