There are three kinds of people who unrelentingly attack San Francisco:
First the trolls who laughably protray themselves as either currently living in San Francisco or who used to live in San Francisco. Most of these impostors have no knowledge of San Francisco & their threads become a joke that are eventually ignored. Their motives are puzzling but most just seem to be jerks in general on other forums & often get kicked off C-D eventually.
The second kind of intentionally rude & nasty posters live outside San Francisco and also outside California. They can barely conceal their outright jelousy of San Francisco & find any excuse to attack the city for a variety of contrived reasons. Mostly these are the posters who also envy California but know that they will never be able to live here. These posters begrudge San Francisco for being one of the most charming cities in the world.
The 3rd group are basically political conservatives who detest San Francisco for it's liberal lifestyle of tolerance & emphasis on progressive thinking [these are the kind of persons who only watch Fox News for their world knowledge]. Many ultra-right religious people fall into this group [the self-righteous who condemn homosexuals while cheating on their spouse]. Totally polar opposites from strongly Democratic San Francisco.
Who know what category the OP fits in but he will eventually go away until something else stirs his inner rage that he'll project on California or wherever.

SF and progressive? In what ways do you see the city making any progress? BTW, the mayor of SF is busy deporting an entire family because their 13 year old kid punched someone in school. So much so for tolerance!

Should San Francisco be more like Dallas? Please enlighten us on why we should listen to you?
[quote=sav858;13847310]I wasn't being defensive but was actually addressing your absurd accusations and trying to form some dialogue. But you apparently aren't actually interested in that and instead just throw out a bunch of baseless opinions and BS.***When you've lived in the heart of that toilet for as long I as I did, then come back and talk to me about baseless opinions.
Learn how to use the damn quote feature too.***I don't take orders.
Not surprised by that but anyways, I don't actually think you are a troll b/c you have been a member for several years and appear to post information for others. This particular thread is trollish though imo for the reasons already stated. Get it now? You may not be a troll but with this thread you are acting like one.*** Be specific.
called you out on the fact that you don't know what the city is like anymore since you don't seem to realize that even though it should be obvious to any rational person.*** Somehow you want me to think that the place has gotten better since the rap culture arrived and since Newsome and his lib buddies made it a sanctuary city? I don't think so!!
For living somewhere yes it certainly is.
Yet nearly everyone that has lived in the Bay Area for that amount of time has agreed that it has. Why don't you search this forum and notice all the natives say how much it has changed. Many say it is some yuppie boutique city now that has lost a lot of its charm and grit. It has changed a lot and you are in a very small minority that doesn't seem to think so. *** You're wrong; it's gotten a lot worse since I lived there (for reasons mentioned).
"The Police Department has logged 45 homicides in the city this year - a decline in lethal shootings, stabbings and bludgeonings of more than 50 percent from both 2007 and 2008, when the city recorded 98 and 97 homicides, respectively. If it holds through the rest of the year, it will mark the lowest number of homicides since 1961, when there were 39. "***I hate to break it to you, but there's still a lot of time left in the year.
Since you seem to misinformed about a lot of things you should be aware that crime rates in many major US cities are much lower today than they were in the early 1990's.*** Much lower, 'eh? Naw, it's pretty much the usual old garbage, though politicians are under pressure to play with facts and figures to make it seem like things have improved. California is in fact releasing tens-thousands of hardened criminals onto the streets due to budget cuts, and we'll see if those sweethearts move into Frisco with flowers in their hair!
Apparently you do b/c SF is a cleaner, safer city than it was in the 80's and 90's. And that's pretty sad that you seem to believe whatever Dr Savage tells you, maybe you ought to think for yourself more often.***It's hilarious that you could say such a thing. What is your bases for saying "you seem to believe whatever Dr Savage tells you"?
I was there in August, I can share some pics if you'd like. Unlike you I base my opinions on experience as well as factual statistics rather than hearsay from a shock jock.***I base my views on my own experiences and my God-given commonsense, and less on so-called "factual statistics."
So you're saying that the so-called shock-jock has been lying when he says there are bums, pimps and other dirt-bags all around the San Francisco area urinating on themselves and making a general nuisance of themselves? On this matter I believe him, not you.
When you've lived in the heart of that toilet for as long I as I did, then come back and talk to me about baseless opinions.]
8 months is not a long time. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and have plenty of experiance with it. It's gotten nicer than it was in the early 90's.

well pretend Dr Savage told you to use the quote feature then.

I already was, if you can't understand that then I don't see the point in trying to explain it more.

Somehow you actually think your opinion still has any relevance and validity. I Don't think so!! And neither does anyone else in here.

You wouldn't know since you haven't been there in TWO DECADES so quit pretending you do. Do you believe everything some shock jock or the media shoves in your face? pretty sad if you do.

Holy crap, can you not fkn read? That was for 2009. Crime is much lower than it was in the 1990's. Those are facts that you cannot refute no matter what additional BS you throw out there. Prove to me SF is more dangerous. Show me STATISTICS and FACTS that show how it is more dangerous than it was in 1990 or that it is the same. If crime is just as bad then crime rates should be the same right? So prove it already instead of just throwing out a bunch of BS out there b/c that is all you have done so far.

NO, it's proven by statisitcs. Crime rates are lower in almost every major American city compared to the 1980's and 1990's. That is a fact proven by statistics but of course you'll continue to believe what you want and continue to argue that BS b/c apparently that's what gets you off.

Are you fukin serious? How about these quotes:
"Even Dr. Michael Savage, the brilliant radio host, speaks of how bad the city has become"
"It goes without saying that there are some wonderful people there (such as Savage), "
"You don't like Savage because he speaks the truth"
"If the place was all that you wished for others to believe it is, Dr. Savage would be the first to brag it up!"
It's pretty obvious you got a hard on for this guy and seem to believe everything he says. That's so pathetic that it's actually funny in a way.

25+ year old experiance? Again, not relevant to today at all. And if you actually had any common sense you'd realize how weak and baseless your whole argument/rant is.

He's exaggerating.
It doesn't matter what anybody says to you, except for Dr Savage of course. You seem to just want to argue for the sake of arguing b/c you seem to believe you are 100% right even though you haven't been to SF in 20 years. No rational person with any sort of intelligence and common sense would ever lend your rant much credibility.
Okay well this was a little fun but I'm done, you can have the last word. There is absolutely no point in arguing with someone like you that lacks common sense and rationality. Good luck with all that buddy and maybe layoff Savage a little, you might gain some real knowledge by doing so and having to think for yourself.
And your saying San Franciscans lack "pure ignorance" and "willful brainpower" when it comes to some of the things they believe?
I don't believe I said anything about San Franciscans. You didn't even read my frickin' post. Who exactly is "they". I don't recall speaking for anyone but me. Antagonistic you are.
I don't quote radio hosts or celebrities as truth or proof of anything. I'm smart enough to know that they don't even believe half of what they say...they make big $$ from b.s. dummies like the op that can't think for themselves.
I'm just getting sick of all Lithium candidates on this forum that post little links of crime incidences from the newspaper to prove some sort of point on how horrible it is here...Frickin' weird--and paranoid.
You don't have to vacation here or move here if you don't want to. And you, BayDude and Sad Andy), don't even have to live here in such misery..Nobody's twisting your arm to stay.. Get a girlfriend or something.
Look, this 'aint Texas or wherever you think heaven is..it's not trying to please you- it's an inanimate object like mustard. You don't have to like it..but don't think you're convincing everyone that it's terrible. It's not a competition either.
I have no desire to move to Texas (or wherever) and I don't go around posting links to Texans how retarded and arse backward it's natives must be..(I just don't care to research something so stupid and pointless and untrue)
I have never heard anyone who ever actually lived in San Francisco call it "Frisco". Next time use "the city" and folks might think you may have actually lived there at some point.
Honestly I don't like SF and that's why I moved. I prefer the East Bay for many reasons but after living in the Bay Area for nearly 30 years, the only people I ever heard say "Frisco" were actors on TV.
You must not know any residents who are young. "Frisco" is very common in Frisco.
Oh, yeah -- San Francisco is the most over rated place on earth.... on the other hand Deep East Oakland is way under rated....
