LOL... and according to my friends and family with PhDs, a "PhD candidate" is one who never finished their dissertation. But seriously, you are being a bit ridiculous - considering only about 8% of the general population (if I remember correctly) has a master's degree, it's hardly something to sneeze at! And I actually considered going for a PhD, but it's really unecessary in my line of work. I'm only 33 though, probably a bit younger than you, so there's still time if I really wanted to go for that. And if I did get a PhD, I wouldn't brag or put down anyone who had a lower degree... I'm just not that kind of person.

But you are the type to brag about having a Master's Degree in "Library Science".

I'm talking about the platform for legalization. You know, things like rational?

The rational was there. I said people who want to smoke pot smoke it. Those who don't, don't. So why not legalize it and bring in some much needed tax revenue.

Wasn't bragging, just thought it was funny in the conversation (due to the comments about book clubs). And why are you putting Library Science in quotes? Another attempt to be condescending towards me? Not working, since I am very proud of my accomplishments... and it's a degree in Library and Information Science, btw.

What was your "Phd Candidacy" in, anyway? And why didn't you finish?

There are two reasons behind the legalization platform - medical and recreational. Some people are genuinely in need of the medical benefits, and others are simply recreational users... I happen to be both, and not afraid to admit it. But why does it matter? People use alcohol solely for recreational purposes, but I don't see you pushing for a return of prohibition. I personally don't drink at ALL, so sue me if I enjoy a joint after a long day of work. What's the big deal?

He was actually referring to my post, which was right after yours... but I think he was confusing me with himself.

If my memory serves me right, the OP wasn't looking for opinions of the dangers or social ills of marijuana now, was it? I believe that it had a little something to do with finding like minded, non pot smokers as friends, wasn't it? I'm sure your posts have scared her into smoking altogether...you've proved how creepy you are.
The OP specifically requested that this thread not become an argument over the pros and cons of smoking marijuana but Mr Fantastic [not] keeps interjecting his 1950's version of the "cannabis threat."

Yeah, we must have posted at the same time or something.

This nut spends his life backtracking and arguing needlessly with everyone on here that he doesn't know who's who anyway.

Pointless to argue with him...he spends all day cutting and pasting his fantastic, highly educated life away when he should be driving to his mansion on the beach in his sports car enjoying life (lol).
