How doable is this 5 days a week on public transportation? Trying to decide if its worth applying for a position there. I would be living in the Northeastern quadrant of the city. Thanks

Check out 511.org, you can do a trip planner that tells you what public transit you would take at any time of the day to get from one place to another in the Bay Area.

Samtrans is the public bus network in San Mateo county. There are express buses from Pacifica to downtown SF but I don't know about a reverse commute, also I read in a newspaper article recently that Samtrans stopped some of the express bus lines but I don't know the details or if that is true. In any case you could probably take BART to Daly City or Colma then a bus to Pacifica.

It could work if your work location is along the main highway 1 in Pacifica. In that case you could get there by Bart and 1 bus. However if it is in the interior of Pacifica, like by Terra Nova High, it would take a second local Pacifica bus to get there. Pacifica is a very easy drive from San Francisco,it takes me around 25 minutes from the middle of SF to the Linda Mar beach area.

That would be BART to Colma, then the Samtrans 118 (replaces the old CX).. they have discontinued all their express buses except for one, the KX, which doesn't serve Pacifica. To save some money you can get a BART Plus pass, which buys you admission on all the local bus systems along with your train fare.
