All five of these sound extremely interesting.

Kronner Burger will be in the former J's Mexican American space (at the corner of 41st and Piedmont). According to my father that space has been a Mexican spot since at least the early 1960s.

Here are some more openings:

Great news. I hope this is the start more 680 corridor companies/offices moving to Downtown Oakland. Gensler is a huge name.

Agreed this is great news! But for the record, the top picture in the article, the one with the long table and multi-colored horse sculpture, is the Urban Tavern restaurant at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square.

Apparently, even financial industry firms (usually the upper echelon) are being priced out of SF. I heard that Charles Schwab is high-tailing it out of SF too.

Also, the NFL will pitch in $200 million, as they did with the San Francisco 49ers. Whether the $400 million figure includes NFL's contribution or not is unclear.

You know something is wrong when financial firms are priced out. And they are willing to pay for a premium address.

They certainly don't "have" $400 million in cash to contribute. They're counting development revenue from free land, naming rights, box sales, etc. I too could contribute a similar amount if the city gave me those things. There's still a huge, probably insurmountable gap between what the Raiders can pay and what a new stadium would cost.
