Yeah, while senior attorneys there may own a home, nobody who is younger there w/I family wealth could afford a home in SF any more. This move makes living in walnut creek/lamorinda more palatable to young families, easier commutes for their admin support who live in alameda county.

The surprising thing is that partners are OK with it. I assume what went on is that the decisionmakers in those practice groups live in the east bay and so the move appealed to them.

I hope it lasts. That spot has been 3 different things since 2022 left. African, Caribbean and something else.

I am on my phone, please forgive the typos.

Lost and Found beer garden is also going in on that block, so hopefully it'll be a little more of a destination. It'd also be nice to have buildings instead of all those parking lots on Telegraph above 20th (and maybe something else other than that horribly ugly beauty shop across the street that gets boarded up at night). That whole stretch of Telegraph above 20th is such a wounded urban landscape, with an ugly surface parking lot for every attractive urban building. All the buildings look so lonely, especially the taller skinny one at Telegraph and 23rd.

What was it? 8-15 years until completion. Damn, just pull it off in 8.
