Default Best San Fran suburb for singles?

I've posted here a bit before. Quite awhile ago.

I badly want to move to the San Francisco area after I graduate in December. Maybe I'll move there as late as like July 2008, but hopefully early and definitely not later.

What would be a good place? I like how Walnut Creek sounds. A bit quieter, but still with things to do and easy access to San Fran for weekends. But is it awful for singles? What about Sunnyvale? I'd appreciate any input at all!

Thanks

No offense to the people who live there (including my own family), but I think both of those towns are boooooring. They're great if you have a family, and want the full suburban experience... larger homes with yards, less noise, "big-box" stores, etc. But for a young-ish, single person like myself, I'll take the city over them ANY day. Some other places that are "city-like" would be Berkeley, Oakland, Daly City, and places right next to those towns. But really it depends on what you want, so I'm not going to say Walnut Creek & Sunnyvale aren't the right choice. Sorry to be so wishy-washy!

P.S. I do remember you, but can't remember the whole conversation & what you're looking for.

Check out college towns such as Berkeley, Palo Alto, San Jose or San Francisco.

There's nothing wrong with Walnut Creek (except the cops) or Sunnyvale. Don't listen to people hung up on the "urban experience."
