Default pacifica to oakland

is it worth it to commute to oakland from pacifica everday for graduate school. It seems like the perfect match for me, and just wondering if it makes sense, or if there is another place that would better suit me. THANKS

First of all -- Pacifica is cold and foggy a LOT...

And in traffic, which you almost always have, it could take you over an hour each way.

As to what would suit you? I don't have enough information.

I lived in Pacifica for a while, and totally LOVED it - especially the fog! But Tallysmom is right about 2 things... it's hard for us to say what's perfect without knowing you, and it would be a rather long commute. However, you could drive up the hill to Daly City's BART, and get over to Oakland in about 25-30 minutes. Guess that wouldn't be so bad!

Pacifica really is a great town, but it all depends on what your priorities/needs are... also how much time you'd be at school vs. home, how many days a week you'd be commuting, etc. Are you willing to sacrifice x hours each week to live in the perfect town? Or would you be at school & commuting so much, you wouldn't even have time to enjoy it? Those are all things I considered before my last move, and I know it's a tough decision - good luck!

Pacifica is the KING of fog...and I love it...your definitly gonna run into traffic commuting across the bay bridge and there's usually traffic (just mainly through rush hours)...you might want to look into BART...Ive used BART over a million times...so convenient BART - Bay Area Rapid Transit District

Looking at this from another way. If you aren't locked in to where you want to go for graduate school you could always consider closer schools like Golden Gate University or SFSU.
