Fairmont in Pacifica
I am moving with my family to Cal after xmas. We can probably rent a house in Fairmont Pacifica, Is it a safe area? We are coming from abroad and never been to Cal seo we all kind of lost here, please someone?
Is it a place you would recommend for a family?

It's not a bad area. Very middle class.

Pacifica is no problem, it's a beach-bum suburb of SF. Safer than the Sunset and prettier, too.

Do you have a job or school lined up? I would use that as the determining factor on where to live.
I've never spent much time in El Cerrito but Alameda is also nice, perhaps nicer depending on your criteria. Most would say that Alameda has much better weather than Pacifica.

Personally I'd take Pacifica over just about anywhere! Taxes are lower than they are in Alameda County, traffic is less of an issue, and you'll be within a mile of the beach.
