18Montclair, what is ignorant that I say that I point out that Oakland has crime or I say it isn't that bad? I can pot the incidents that Piedmont has been experiencing but I thought most people either read or watch the news.

Oh he is, and its pretty ambitious.
Oakland mayor touts 'unprecedented' renewal plan, but he's light on details - Inside Bay Area

Im not so much disturbed by crime, which seems to rise and fall like the overall economy, but I am more interested in development in Oakland.

Jerry Brown really elevated Oakland's Downtown to a much higher level of viability as a place people would want not only to do business in but also LIVE.

Now Dellums(To be honest, Im not a fan and would still prefer De La Fuente) is taking Brown's development momentum and taking to a higher level with a very ambitious plan to redevelop a whopping 470 city blocks.

That's what Im interested in. Seeing change-As far as Oakland goes, Crime is secondary to me and always has been.

The city needs alot of restructuring.
No, not really. From a budget perspective, SF is much worse off.

DJRey, but what happen the year before and the years before that? Yes there should be a solution but this is not the only year in which Oakland had crime problems.

No... just wondering how many cycles you'd been through when it came to Oakland. Thanks!

18Montclair, if crime is still a problem then it will plague any development. Dellums, I am sure is light on details about this new project but I doubt it will happen any time soon as CA has such a huge deficit.

18Montclair, well I am proud not to be a "Real Oaklander". Love the Raiders though.
