LOL... yeah, I rock hardcore!

As for the video, I think he represents a certain part of Black-American culture - but certainly not all of it.

Second, okay a 'gangsta'. Do you think they are not relevant in today's society? Hell if you live in Hunters Point ( Im not calling you a liar...... i just have a hard time getting a mental picture of a jewish lady *librarian none the less* living in the point, much less walking through the point) than you know these people can be pretty damn relevant in todays society.
|
Of course they're relevant, but I think you're stereotyping people - black, white or otherwise - in Hunter's Point. You've proven that by having a hard time picturing me, a Jewish librarian, living and walking around that part of town. Have you ever spent time there? Believe it or not (I didn't until moving here!), there are some nicer pockets of the Bayview district, and I happen to live in one... the houses are practically new, street is quiet, and most of my neighbors are actually Chinese. Plus I lived in East Palo Alto prior to this, so the "ghetto" thing is nothing new to me. But even in the scarier parts of HP, there are plenty of "non-gangsta" types! I've subbed at the Bayview library a few times, and met some really great people there... it's right across from an Islamic cultural center, and many of their members hung out at the library - nice folks!

Thrid, im not trying to start a beef even though thats what trolls feed on, im just noting its not bad to say frisco. And that typically yuppies and transplants seem to be the only ones who have a problem with the term. The black man with gold teeth right on filmore (im going to assume hes a local for life) simply served as further proof.

Hey, I'm not disagreeing with the fact that
some people say "Frisco"... but I don't like the stereotyping (about yuppies, transplants, Black people, etc.), since that's never a good thing. I gave examples to counter your arguments, just to show how you cannot make such sweeping generalizations. Wow, I can't believe this thread is at 8 pages!
