My employer is re-assigning me to San Francisco. I was previously stationed in San Francisco from 2003-2005. My wife and I lived on the edge of Pacific Heights in an obscenely expensive one bedroom, and we loved every minute of it. Now, however, my wife and I are looking to settle down, or at least rent something bigger. We are looking at sale properties in Novato, San Mateo, and Walnut Creek, as well as some rental apartments in SF proper.
My question: I know there is a bus that runs from Novato to SF, and it promises a 45-minute trip into the financial district. Does anyone out there know anything more about that bus line? Is it comfortable, worth the price, etc.? My job gives me a take-home car but I just don't want the hassle of driving. I'd rather sit back and read a book while someone else drives. Any insight is appreciated. |

Golden Gate Transit runs bus and ferry service between Marin county and SF Golden Gate Transportation District. Traffic getting to the Golden Gate bridge and driving up Hwy 101 towards Novato can be just plain awful most of the time. I don't know about the commute lasting 45 minutes - it could be a little longer.
