Ha! Well, you know, I think they are making cuter flat shoes now than they were years ago. When flats weren't in style, the styles were rather limited.

I love really high heels but they are super hard to walk on if you have to go up and down hills. In fact, you really can't wear them at all on steep hills.

???
I tend to agree with you. Although, I don't think all that many wear tennis shoes now, they just wear flats.

I wear clogs or sandals, and luckily have no need to change at work... we dress for comfort in my profession! Oh, and kudos to the poster who said "I don't go to work to look sexy, I go to work!" Amen to that, sister.

What I have personally noticed about girls in SF as opposed to say New York or Boston, is that the younger girls simply do not know how to walk in high heels. I think it is because they are accustomed to wearing flip flops and sneakers everywhere. Either way I find it entertaining to watch these people walk in heels.

Simple accents make all the difference.

I am known as the "Accessory Queen" at my salon, and I definitely agree that you can dress a look 'up' or 'down' depending on how you accessorize. You can make a great pair of jeans look tre chic, or casual. It's all in how you pull everything together. That said, you have to be careful not to look overdone, or mannequin gaudy. I am moving from Denver to The City, too, so I am sure I will have to adjust my wardrobe accordingly.

And, All Hail the simple black dress! So many variations, so little time!

Beware the nonconformist. I don't understand why so many people feel the need to draw attention to themselves.

It's not always about drawing attention. Sometimes, of course, there is the occasion to go out and attract....but, I think it's about looking and feeling your best...something not many guys "get" unless they are gay! Not generalizing, just calling it like I see it. And again, Denver, has a different character. Usually when I see an attractive male dressed nicely here, he is gay.

Working in the beauty industry I also have a certain responsibility to my clients to keep up on the latest styles and trends. I am in my 40's, and although I may look younger, I don't try to look like a 20-year-old. But, my clients do look to me for advice on what's fresh and new.

And, BTW, what's up with the boring clothes I saw recently in a Target in Napa? Even in the Junior's Dept. Anyone been there and agree?? I have found more up-to-date and interesting things in the Glendale, Co, Target. (Which is not an expensive part of Denver.) Please tell me I will find a better variety when I move to The City!!

With regional buying it will probably be the same items you saw in Napa.
