Smile Atherton -Tiburon

I live in Atherton for about 3 years now, not only is this Town very pleasant to live in but I find their residents (the ones I've met along the way)to be very friendly as well. One would have to experience living in this area to appreciate the quietness & beauty of the Town. The schools are very good and safe for our kids. Is only minutes away from shopping Centers, restaurants and is very safe to be outdoors riding my bike, walking etc. every Town has beauty to be appreciated or issues that need to be worked on but one thing about Atherton which is sometimes very very good: You hardly ever see your neighboors and that is a plus

No sidewalks in Atherton. It's near Menlo Park and Redwood City. I think Tiburon is more scenic. both are very nice, very affluent communities.

According to Wikipedia, listed among its many "notable residents" are:

* Eric E. Schmidt, Chairman and CEO of Google
* Charles R. Schwab, Founder and CEO of the Charles Schwab Corp.
* Thomas F. Stephenson, Venture Capitalist, Sequoia Capital
* Steve Westly, State Controller of California
* Meg Whitman, CEO of eBay
* Mark Hurd, CEO of HP
* Mark Kvamme, Venture Capitalist, Sequoia Capital
* Robert Fischer, Chairman, Gap
* Russell Pyne, Venture Capitalist, Atrium Capital

I'm not personally familiar with Atherton, but I noticed that city-data has some info regarding common occupations of males and females. For males, "top executives" was the most common for Atherton, and "lawyers" was the most common in Tiburon.
Also, according to Wikipedia - and the reason I'm on this thread to begin with - is it's the home of Ted Robinson, who as I type is calling a tennis match on Tennis Channel. He also does Wimbledon and the French Open for NBC, and according to Wikipedia, the new voice of the 49ers.

As I understand it, prices are off a bit more in Tiburon right now than they are in Atherton. I've seen some homes for sale on Paradise Drive, even a couple fixers. May be the time to jump in.

Tiburon is close to two large shopping centers in Corte Madera. It also has a couple of great nature centers, is scenic, has good schools. Its a nice place.

I finally moved here to Tiburon, I can't live without a view and I have children and Tiburon's schools are ranked much higher than Atherton's and are one of the best in the Bay Area, so I chose the Tiburon-Belvedere area.

By the way, that list is funny. I don't think people live in Atherton because they are close to Target and Walmart likewise, Tiburon and Belvedere people don't care they are not near a Target and Walmart.
