Default Any Conservative Districts Within San Francisco?

Hi Friends,

I'm looking to move to San Francisco. Does anyone happen to know of any conservative districts located within the city itself?

Thanks a lot.

I don't know about how Conservative really, but the more conservative areas are definitly the Marina and Pacific Heights-my favorite parts.

Walnut Creek/Danville is much better.

If you are looking for a large pocket of midwestern/southern type of conservatism (social/religious) in any populated area of the Bay Area, you will be out of luck. If you are looking for fiscal conservatives then you stand a better chance . . .

Edit: And you've asked basically the same question in three different threads. You probably could have consolidated . . .

Why are conservatives so concerned about being surrounded by other conservatives? Not trying to start a flamewar but I've wondered this for a while. It seems, across all C-D forums, there's probably 10 posts looking for a conservative area for every 1 post looking for a liberal area.

You generally don't move to California to be around other conservatives (especially the Bay area) but try the surrounding areas of Sacramento like Citrus Heights, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Roseville. Those areas are more conservative leaning. If you're looking to be meet a large segment of conservative people in conservative areas within San Francisco, you won't find it. Even cities in the East Bay and South Bay are Democratic leaning. Since you seem to want to stick to your own "type", you probably shouldn't come to the most liberal leaning area in the United States.

Well if you have to be with many conservatives, you could come on down to Orange County south of Los Angeles. It basically is one big county of 3 million conservatives, although there are liberals too, just smaller in number here. We are basically a polar opposite of the rest of the state politics wise. Although people claim to be conservative, you will never hear people talk about politics, it just isn't important to most. If you are Christian, there are churches everywhere and we are home to the mega-church Saddleback Church (Rick Warren), and many big churches like the Crystal Cathedral, Mariners, Coast Hills, Compass Bible, and small ones in between. We are not a very exciting area for young people though, as it is suburban and families are most prevalent.

okay, what do you mean by conservative....do you mean religious, political, what?? If you don't want to be surrounded by gay people every day....no offense, then don't live in the castro. It's not like your only friends will be from your neighborhood...in fact none of mine are...in such a metropolitan city the people in your neighborhood don't matter as much as the things there are to do around your neighborhood...ie restaurants, shows etc. I grew up in Potrero Hill in the city...only 5-10 min from downtown...5 min from the bay, and it is honestly the sunniest part of the city. My dad is politically conservative...but he would never live anywhere else...he loves the city. There is so much to do and see you won't be as concerned about the level of conservatism in your neighborhood....just focus on safe, affordable neighborhoods with a couple of good restaurants. SF is only 7 miles by 7 miles.

Move to Orange County or San Diego if you're concerned. You'll have no problems finding conservative communities down there at all!
