Default So how about WALNUT CREEK

I have found an apartment that I like in Walnut Creek. I know that it is a nice safe neighborhood (atleast thats my impression so far). So what can someone tell me about the town and surrounding areas? Whats the "personality" of that area. Is the weather more nice that far inland.
Whats the good and bad about that area?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

~Ryan

Expect more variation the more inland you are from the Bay... weather wise.

Walnut Creek is colder in the winter and much warmer in the summer as compared with San Francisco.

I know lots of people who really enjoy the warm summer evenings and they take Bart to SF for work.

Ryan- I love Walnut Creek! It all depends on what your looking for......It has everything. I live in Clayton (further out) and I go to Walnut Creek almost everyday for something. Great people, great food, great shopping and really great homes....oh and very safe!!!

I LOVE Walnut Creek. The downtown is nice and walkable, small enough with good enough shopping and nightlife for a place that size. I think the population seems young, like 20s-30s. I found it safe and some of the neighborhoods were nice and established. It's my #1 favorite of the East Bay towns, San Ramon, Dublin etc. to the south are sooo boring compared to WC.

Walnut creek is the type of place you move to when you have enough sense to take the money youve been wasting on that piece of crap sf apartment you and your new wife live in and you decide to get a mortgage.

walnut creek personally stikes me as an anytown usa type of bedroom community...nothing shocking horrible about it...nothing shockingly great either...but then again i'm a biased ex east bay person...so do with my 2 cents what you will!....
