Question Moving to SF: Orinda vs. Piedmont public schools

We are moving to SF with child and wanted to know if anyone knows how the Orinda vs. Piedmont public schools compare. Where should we look for houses if a good public school is our priority, given of course that the houses are not outrageously expensive? Thank you for the help!

Both areas have excellent Public Schools... so much so that many people move to Piedmont or Orinda primarily for the schools.

Both areas are expensive, although, you do have more of a selection right now.

Good Luck!

Piedmont is generally considered to have pretty much the best public schools in the east Bay Area, and a bit more control over them than Orinda. However, both areas have excellent public schools. Piedmont is a bit more urban, Orinda a bunch more suburban. Both are great areas to live. Visit both and live where you feel most comfortable. Either way your kids have a huge head start.
