Default What Bay Area Blogs/Papers are Good? Art, Real Estate, Politics, Neighborhoods

What do you read for news, restaurant info, politics, etc.? We're moving to the Bay Area (Oakland or SF) and want to start connecting.

We are food bloggers with arts, nonprofit and political backgrounds. We're also thinking about buying in downtown Oakland, so real estate blogs or journalists might be good to be reading as well.

Anything you think we should be checking out?

Thanks!

Here are some of our faves....

On the city:
OaklandGoods (also see list of other blogs--lots of good ones depending on area/neighborhood of interest)
A Better Oakland (ditto--no need to list them all here!)

On restaurants/local food:
Life Begins at 30
KQED Food Blog: Bay Area Bites

On stuff to do:
The Squid List
East Bay Express

On real estate:
Redfin Sweet Digs San Francisco: San Francisco real estate blog focusing on hot properties and current market trends. (grain of salt required for some of their bloggers....but that said, I kinda enjoy watching it, and their map of listings is pretty solid! I'd also check out neighborhood blogs for places like Old Oakland and Uptown.)

Thanks folks-- these are so helpful. As we plan where to live and how to engage with our community, it's nice to see some of the places people get information.
