There is a large movie cinema complex in Daly City. However, every time I have gone there the audiences have been incredibly rude. But maybe that's just a sign of the times?

There's a BART station in Daly City, so that might help with your commute. You're a hop-skip-and-a-jump from San Francisco, where the activities are endless.

Thanks! I apperciate it. How is the weather? My biggest concern is safety, do you know how the crime rate is?

The west side of Daly City, up in the hills (heading towards the ocean & hwy 280), gets a lot of that super heavy fog - which I personally love, but most people aren't so fond of. It's a bit sunnier down by the Bay/101, though it's definitely a cooler climate overall.

It's iffy in some parts, and perfectly safe in others... the area near the BART station & at the edge of San Francisco (Cow Palace & thereabouts) is sketchy, but not really horrible. The nicest part is probably the Westlake district, which is west of hwy 280 near the ocean. I also like the neighborhood near Colma, mostly because it has good shopping. One thing to keep in mind if you're considering Daly City, So. San Francisco or San Bruno, is the airport being very close... if you're in/near their flight-path, it can get REALLY noisy!! Aside from that, Daly City is a pretty nice town, and has the benefits of BART and the movie complex (in addition to other activities & shopping) right there. If you want something a little more quaint and safe, you might look into the town of Brisbane - very cute!

Daly City, being close to the coast, does get a lot of fog and wind especially during the summer. By living just 10 or 15 miles inland from the coast, you will get much more sun and warmth. During the summer, it can be 60 degrees in Daly City or Pacifica, but 85 degrees in the east bay or in San Jose.

Daly City is safe. But very foggy if you don't mind the weather. Close to SF too.

It's the cabbies and delivery drivers you have to watch out for in San Francisco. Oh, and the pedestrians. The regular drivers are good, because they have to be!!
