Default Where to live in RWC?

I am planning to move closer to San Francisco, and Redwood city is is the best city in terms of distance from SF to Mountain View (my boyfriend works in Mountain View). Which area/intersection is a nice place to live in (ie. safe, quiet, not busy)?

Thank

Canyon & Oak Knoll kind of area is classy, upscale and has easy access to 280, which is better for a commute to SF than 101, but has affordable apartments in the area as well. Some of them are falling apart so don't take one sight unseen.

I would avoid anything right on Woodside Expressway (84), El Camino Real, or Middlefield Road as a matter of course, but wouldn't immediately dismiss the neighborhoods a block or so off of them.

I take the Caltrain to SF.... so it's better if it is closer to the station.

Lg Balcony-Sequoia Mall-DownTown-CalTrain- Cat OK (broken link) That's one idea.. just west of El Camino close to the station.

You could also live in Mountain View. It's an extra fare zone, but only about an extra 10 minutes commuting thanks to the express schedule, and your boyfriend's easy commute would save you money.
