I recently moved to American Canyon and can totally agree with how you feel about it. I love the small home town feel and how everyone is friendly, including the fast food places. It has been an adjustment for my son and I going from a big city to something small, but at least it's safe. Does anyone know of any good preschools in the area?

Quick question to fellow American Canyon residents. My family and I are contemplating a move to your city given the affordability of the homes. Are the railroad tracks which run through the city still utilized? If so, how frequently do trains run on them and about what times? I like the new homes just east of the tracks but am hesitant to buy if the tracks are used frequently. MY current home in Sac is about 1/4 mile from tracks and it can be annoying. Thank you.

I moved to AC 6 years ago and love it. It is the first place I ever lived that I said I would not want to move from. It has a great small town feel and the people are incredibly friendly and socially conscious. People that don't appreciate AC are usually commuters that do little more than live here. It is not an easy commute to SF. The best way to enjoy AC is to get involved. There are several community organizations and they all welcome new ideas. The new high school is opening next fall and that will bring more activity and town spirit.
