Fairfield/Vacaville (San Diego, Benicia, Dixon: rental, house, schools)

DH and I will be moving to east bay from San Diego. He has a job offer in Fairfield. I will be working from home all day, so we really need a "safe" place so I can feel safe. I think we can pay about 1800 a month to rent or maybe a little bit more...
From reading the posts on here, I should stay in the west side of the freeway, but what about vacaville? Which area should I stay? I am definitely leaning towards Vacaville from this forum. And what about paradise valley in Fairfield? We will be looking for a rental agent as well, if you have any recs, please let me know.

Depends on if you have kids in school. Fairfield is a big NO for schools. Vacaville has decent schools but overcrowded. Look at Benicia or Dixon. Benicia is more expensive. Dixon has newer schools. You can probably rent a nice house for around 1800 in Dixon.

Fairfield is not safe.
Vacaville is vey family friendly and safe. schools are not cozy, but that just gives one more to choose from in the friend catagory.
You may not be able to afford paradise vally-?
Dixon is ok-small minded, a lot of mexican families there,are you bilingual?
like mexican food? (delicious!!)
