Tell me more about SF's climate & where to move

I here the clearest weather is spring and fall?
Foggy in the summer?

Would Berkley be a place where the fog stops?
Thanks

Yes.. more fog at the coast, less downtown. Microclimates are really intense. The East Bay, including Berkeley, is consistently warmer and lacks the fog factor. The thing is that most apartments on that side still won't have air conditioning.. so if you don't like the idea of occasionally sweltering in 90 degree temps, like me, you'll be praying to the fog gods for relief.

LOL - I think the weather is perfect where you live (So San Francisco), sonarrat!

The East Bay is definitely warmer and has less fog, but Berkeley can get awfully chilly & foggy in/near the hills... I've attended concerts at the Greek Theater (near UCB), and they're always COLD. Oakland has really nice weather, and is usually sunny and warm in most spots. And if you want to live west of the bay, it's always foggier near the ocean but windy near the bay. My neighborhood is right on the bay near Candlestick Park, and we're typically the sunniest & windiest part of SF. Boy, it was really blowing today! For actual warm weather, you have to head way inland or south - i.e. San Jose or Concord.

Oh, and our "foggy season" is usually during the late summer-early fall. Winters can be surprisingly nice and sunny (or rainy), and springtime is when we get the serious wind & occasional rain. But yes, it's typical for summer to be the coldest/foggiest, and locals know to ALWAYS carry a jacket.

You need to start another thread of your own with this kind of question or no one will know from the original thread title.
