Default Benicia - Windy / Foggy?

we are considering purchasing at the Shea community, just off the 680. My wife tells me that is so windy, people don't really go outside. Also she claims the fog can be treacherous as well - any validity to her claims?

Not sure about the fog, but I do remember the wind noticeably blowing through the Carquinez Strait, during visits to Benicia.

The Stockton Sailing Club sponsors a couple of races that traverse the Carquinez straights abeam Benicia. The Delta Ditch Runs starts in SF and runs to Stockton, the Carquinez straights are a real Nantucket Sleigh Ride!

The fog doesn't usually make its way that far though.

Lived in Benicia '91-'96. I remember it being very windy but not to stop you from being outside!! The up side of wind is that you do not need AC in Benicia. Really - its way cooler than the other side of the straight in the summer.

I do remember some years with lots of fog but it always burned off by 11 or noon.

I highly recommend Benicia as a great place to live. The little main street down town is great. Some great restaurants and shops.

It can be foggy and windy. I like Benicia though. Just buy one of the models with the courtyard. heh
