People are always asking where to live in Northern Ca. This is my 2 cents.
DIXON- Small controlled growth community. Neighborhoods built around 2 new elementary schools. Brand New Highschool. Affordable single family housing. (not a lot of multifamily housing available). Crime if there is any is low. Close to shopping. Right off I-80. Minutes to UC Davis, Vacaville, Fairfield, Sac and 60 minutes to the East Bay (I timed it). Loved the family friendly area. Sidewalks and parks all over. Very clean. There is a train station but they haven't managed to get the train to stop yet
. Many of the UC Davis employee's live in Dixon (they can't afford Davis) Unfortunately, my husband changed jobs and we had to move.
