So what is it like up there these days? Family town? Good schools? What about Petaluma or Cotati?

Petaluma has good food, great nightlife, good schools. My wife and I love it. The diversity is increasing, but mostly western Europeans are transplanting here. We were at the farmers market the other day and were surprised at how many French speaking residents there were.
