I agree with these stats except the smokers part is questionable?
SF is a fittness craze city, the steep hills help alot for great walks,I always see people jogging, bike riding and the gyms are usually packed and people playing some kind of sports in any city park, I love it, people here tend to care more about what they eat, we have meat eaters and vegetable eaters and I dont see to many fat people other than my boss on a daily basis.

sanramondc is on a distinguished road
I believe it; lots of 12ks, marathons, triathlons, sport clubs all over SF. That plus our healthy food reputation (as compared to the likes of Philadelphia's cheesesteak sandwich).

Goes to show you, I've even seen dogs pulling people on skateboards here, seems every other kid or teenager or young man or girl has a skateboard and with huge mussle calfs on thier legs.

Oh, I believe it! When we lived in San Francisco, I was at my fittest weight ever (even high school). We walked everywhere, ate better (IMO) and in general were just more aware.

We moved to Morgan Hill and I packed on 40 (yep 4-0) LBS IN 2 YEARS. Everywhere there we needed a car. There really wasn't anywhere decent to eat within walking distance. I went from 5'10 at 135 lbs to a whopping 175lbs.

Now we are in Jersey (Right over the bridge from Philly) and now I have to be uber-aware of food. Yes....they sell philly cheesesteaks EVERYWHERE!

We still need a car to do anything but I lost 10 lbs so far and I'm hoping for the best.
