How weird... I was totally just thinking of starting this thread!

Tonight my friends & I (and the dog) saw a free movie in Washington Square Park - "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." Way cool! They're doing a few other movies throughout the summer, and I'm planning to see "The Breakfast Club" on July 26th in Dolores Park. Here's info on it: San Francisco Neighborhood Theater Foundation

Tomorrow I might attend the free Haight St. fair, and I'll definitely be at Pride on June 29th...

From the film in Washington Square...

And a tip - bring 2 blankets, one for sitting & one to cover yourself. San Francisco nights are COLD, even in the summer! And they do allow picnics/food & liquor, but do not allow people to sit on chairs (except in the very back).

That's pretty sweet. I'd love to do that when I'm there.

We have a thing just like that down here in Oahu, but it's held on a beach ("Sunset on the beach" it's called)

people watch, walk across Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park (or any of the other parks), Street fairs. Cable car museum, Creativity explored, Fisherman's Wharf, Randall museum, SF art institute galleries, Chinatown, library. First Tuesday of the month Asian art museum, cartoon art museum, Deyoung museum, SFMOMA, Yerba Buena center for the arts all have free admission. Third Tuesday of the month the legion of honor has free admission. First Wednesday of the month Exploratorium, and SF zoo have free admission. I'm a big fan of window shopping, but I always end up buying something, so I guess that doesn't count!
