Default San Bruno

We are relocating from the east coast in September and are looking for housing in the bay area. Considering all possiblities that we can afford Oakland Lake Merrit area, Berkeley....They all sound great.
Someone has just mentioned that we consider San Bruno a little south of SF. Does anyone have any information on this town. Schools are not an issue as our daughter is currently settled in an eastern college.
Thanks, this list is a great resource.

San Bruno is a nice town, although there are some rougher areas too. I'm a Bay Area expat, and one of the locals can probably confirm whether El Camino Real is still something of a dividing line in this regard.

I do remember San Bruno being quite windy, and you might also want to check SFO flight paths before settling on anything.

San Bruno has a BART station, which is definitely a positive.

Do you have a job already, and if so, in which area?
