Default Good family neighborhoods? Santa Rosa?

I am thinking about relocating to the area and want to know where the best family neighborhoods are. We are a young family, my husband and I are both 30, and we have a 10 month old daughter. I am a stay at home mom.

We are looking for a neighhorhood/area that has lots of parks, kids riding bikes and playing around the neighborhood, a community pool would be fantastic. We would prefer a newer neighborhood, but an older one would be okay.

Our price range will be up to one million, and we are NOT interested in the Silicon Valley area.

Thank you!!

How about the "M" section of Rohnert Park-about 7 miles south of Santa Rosa
Lots of kids, parks, pool, good elementary school, peaceful neighborhood. Lot's of newer homes

Having lived in Santa Rosa for over 10 years and the Bay area for most of my life, I can tell you that you should be able to find something nice for that amount of money. I love the Sebastopol area ( outside of Santa Rosa) or how about Sonoma? Gorgeous areas.

I would also consider the JC/Mc Donald area of Santa Rosa. There should be some beautiful older homes many have been restored. That is where I lived. There is a YMCA with a pool. Lots of families and decent schools.
