How is Candlestick Point area?
I'm thinking about moving to SF area and need suggestions. I am single and don't need a good school district, just safety, ease of travel by car, and reasonable home prices... would like mountains and water nearby. I don't want to be more than 15 miles away from the city of SF or Berkeley. Thanks in advance.

That's near my house, and is kind of iffy... I think Candlestick Point itself is fine, especially if you're west of or near the freeway (101). But we are at the edge of Bayview/Hunter's Point, which is the "bad part" of San Francisco. Can you be more specific about the location?
P.S. You should look for something in Brisbane, a cute little town just across the freeway - only like 5 minutes from the entrance of SF, and very convenient by car.

Hi Gizmo, thanks for your reply. I was looking at a group of condos in development in candlestick point, it is a gated community along the shore, south of gilman and north of geneva ave. Sort of isolated and just north of brisbane. I will look into brisbane, thanks for the hint!

Brisbane is a teeny tiny little town in San Mateo County on the backside of a hill west of Bayshore Blvd.. population 3,000 last I checked. Candlestick Point has a certain prestige since it's close to the football stadium, but there are rumblings that they might be moving anyway, and like Brisbane it's pretty well isolated from the best that SF has to offer. I also understand that whole Hunter's Point area is built on landfill.. I'm not nervous about earthquakes personally, but that would make me wonder. If they did it as well as they did Foster City then it might not be a worry.

Hi Sonnarat, thanks for the foster city suggestion, I will look into it. Good point about stadium possibly being relocated and the landfill question.
