Job Offer in Brisbane, CA, where do I move too?
Hello,
I'm originally from LA and now currently live in Houston, TX.
I have a job offer in Brisbane, CA. and I'd like to know where I should relocate too ?
I am a Single Guy and will be living alone.
My budget ? < 1200/mo
I have a friend in Milpitas, CA who i'd like to roomate with, but I think driving every morning to Brisbane will become tiresome. I thought about taking the bart from Fremont to the San Bruno bart station, but then from there how do i go 5 miles to my work?
So I am looking for some suggestions on where I can live?
Thanks

If you were to take BART, you'd take it to the Balboa Park station and hop on the shuttle that goes around Brisbane. I work in the northern peninsula as well, and I opted to live in South San Francisco because it's one of the few affordable cities left. The jet noise from SFO can get old, so it's not for everyone, but otherwise it's a cute little town with a lot going for it. Its sister city San Bruno has the same perks and downsides.

There's nothing wrong with Brisbane itself. A nice little town at the base of San Bruno mountain. Or you could live on the other side of the mountain in South San Francisco or San Bruno. The downside to this is the jet noise from nearby SFO airport. Both Milpitas and Fremont would be too far away and a long commute.

Sonarrat, can you give me an idea of how much rent you pay or the apartment building that you are in so I can call for prices at that location and near by ones...Also what shuttle ? does it have a name ? Is it run by the city ? I'd like to call and see how much they charge and if they can drop me to my location.

I pay $1075 but my complex is charging $1300 for new tenants.. there are a number of decent apartment complexes west of El Camino Real, some of the best of which are on Alida Way (except for 434).. there is also a condo complex called Shelter Creek in San Bruno that has lots of nice junior one-bedrooms, but you'll be dealing with individual owners.

I think Brisbane is adorable, and you could find something small for that price. As a single guy, though, you might want to consider the city (SF)... you could do that on $1200 if you're willing to get a studio or roommate/s.
