Default San Ramon or Pleasanton ?

I'm a single 44 yr old professional male relocating to the bay area. I'm trying to decide between San Ramon and Plesanton. Which of the two would be more fit for a straight single guy ? I like bars that have live bands, good beer and a good selection of single women.

If you can afford it I would say Pleasanton. Good downtown area, for walking, eating. Plenty of good bars too. Lots of "town" events good for meeting people. San Ramon is more spread out and "family", lots of strip malls with chain resturants.

Easy drive or Bart trip to SF too

I would say go hang out on a Friday or Saturday night
on Main Street in P town, then try to find a "downtown" San Ramon and hang out.

just my opinon Have fun...
