Newark to Palo Alto
There are some 2bd apartments right near the Dumbarton Bridge that are 1400-1700 which is way cheaper than I am finding on the Peninsula. Is the commute to Palo Alto that bad say leaving at 6am and returning to Newark around 4pm? Is that considered a bad area? I'm not concerned about schools but safety is necessary. Thanks!

The commute across the Dumbarton bridge is generally OK. One downside is maybe driving on city streets through East Palo Alto. The toll is $4 one-way.

Newark is an OK town, it doesn't smell good sometimes because of the pollutants in the bay. Lock your doors driving down University Ave through East Palo Alto or Willow Rd through eastern Menlo Park.
PS - too many threads. You should reply to your own thread before starting a new one or you're just going to look like a waffler.

As far as Newark goes, nothing to write home about. A pretty middle-of-the-road town. Where are you moving from?
Regarding University Ave. in East Palo Alto, don't be too concerned about having to drive through there. It's a relatively short stretch when you get off the Dumbarton until you hit 101. Yes, it's a dump, but if you're just driving though there's really nothing to worry about. Tons of people do it all the time with no problems.

Thanks
Thanks for the replies. Wasn't aware there was a waffling police on this website. I thought if I had a bunch of questions and couldn't find the answers by doing a search that it was perfectly acceptable to start new threads.
