Posted too quick! Overall, IMO, it's not difficult to get a teaching job in CA, especially if you are certified in an area that is "in demand", which is sped, math, science, or elementary ed.
Just to warn you, the credentialling process is a huge PITA, and takes forever. Apply now, seriously. They are averaging about six months to process right now. Some districts are happy to take out-of-state credentialed teachers that don't have their CA credentials yet, but others won't even accept the applications, you'll need to contact each district to find out.

How hard is it to get a teaching job in Marin County
I am an experienced elementary teacher from Colorado. We are looking to move to Marin County (don't know where yet... Mill Valley or San Raphael..... something like that) this summer. How competitive is the job market for teachers? Is it impossible to get a job without subbing first, or if you are a confident interviewee with a strong resume, is it a bit easier to get a job?
